The IBPS PO Prelims got underway on October 3rd and here we share a summary of the exam experiences of some of our students. Overall, the feedback was that the exam was very similar to SBI PO Prelims held in June. The paper was easy-moderate at best with only a couple of Analytical Reasoning sets causing some trouble to several students. Please do not use the rest of the analysis provided as an indicator of the pattern/difficulty level of the upcoming slots.

English Language: This section was moderate. The section had a large focus on Economics related topics. Most of the questions were quite easy with Parajumbles being slightly tricky and time consuming to solve. A well prepared candidate could have attempted 15+ questions in 10 minutes.

Quantitative Ability: This section was easy to moderate. There were no surprises here. The number series questions were a bit tricky but questions on Arithmetic, Simplification, Quadratic were fairly straightforward. There were a couple of questions on probability as well. The DI had two sets (moderately calculation intensive) with one on tables with missing values and another on graphs.
A well prepared candidate could have attempted 16+ questions in 25 minutes.

Reasoning: This section was easy with 2 of the 3 analytical reasoning sets (circular arrangements and matching one) were very time consuming and the only portions on the test that could be described as tough. The 5 syllogism were the traditional syllogism questions and quite straightforward. The 5 inequalities questions were also quite easy. It is advised that one attempts the analytical reasoning sets towards the end after attempting all other questions.
A well prepared candidate could have attempted 20+ questions in 25 minutes.

Cut-offs: With a large portion of the candidates yet to write the exam, while it will be too early to predict the overall cut-offs, the sectional cut-offs should remain similar to the SBI PO prelims with lower numbers for the Reasoning section.
